F2 Newsletter - January 2010 Introduction

Created Saturday, 30 January 2010 by Hayden Foote in General News & Events

We thought it was about time, now that the smoke has started to clear from the doom and gloom of the last 12 to 18 months, to bring you our spin on things in the world of Internet technologies, with a particular focus on the rapid and continued growth of the Joomla! content management system, one of the world's leading open source CMSs and our 'tool' of choice for website implementation.  Along with other popular and internationally-supported CMS frameworks, such as Drupal, TYPO3 and WordPress, Joomla!'s popularity is on the increase and, given that many organisations are therefore implementing the same CMS framework as their partners, resellers, and affiliates, this represents a significant opportunity for promoting inter-organisational cooperation and enhancing business-to-business, business-to-government and business-to-consumer communications.

F2 Shout Out - Microsoft BCM Interface

Created Monday, 25 January 2010 by Hayden Foote in General News & Events

F2 Shout Out Microsoft BCM InterfaceAnother recent example of the development that F2 is undertaking to streamline and automate contact management between systems.  In this instance, scheduled and automated imports of contact data stored in the Microsoft Office Business Contact Manager extension into our very own F2 Shout Out e-marketing engine.

The interface enables contact data stored within Microsoft BCM to be 'pulled' into the F2 Shout Out service at user-defined, recurring time increments (hourly if necessary!) and enables profiling into user-definable contact lists.  Given that Microsoft's BCM itself has user-defined fields into which additional information can be stored about each contact, the ability to easily map these fields with Shout Out fields means that these customer profiles can be retained and applied to or used for your specific mailout requirements.

Importantly, the import manages those contacts that may have been imported previously and have since opted out of your newsletter, for whatever reason, with options to re-import them should they opt back in in the future.

New Joomla! Website for NewSat

Created Thursday, 21 January 2010 by Hayden Foote in General News & Events

NewSatF2 is proud to announce the release of the new Joomla! website for NewSat Limited, a satellite telecommunications company based in Melbourne, Australia.

The site was designed by leading Melbourne design agency, James Philip Design, whose engaging design, combined with NewSat content, required quite a bit of thought and custom template solutions by the F2 team.  The NewSat project also required a custom Joomla! authentication module to be developed to satisfy requirements within the site relating to their customer billing system.
